This is not Sariwon Street but Sangwon Street (Sangwon meaning Maternity Hospital).
  • Kim Il Sung Changsuwon Residence, handydandy61 wrote 17 years ago:
Good eye. Possibly Kim Yong Nam's house, although I suspect he owns several properties and probably resides in the Samsok Leadership area.

  • Exhibitions of the Three Revolutions, Wolf (guest) wrote 17 years ago:
The correct name of this exhibition is "Three-Revolution Exhibition", not Three Generations. On the right side as seen from the entrance is the "General introduction hall", the "Heavy industry hall" (including outdoor show ground on the north side with locomotives, a tramway, buses, and other vehicles), and "New technological development hall". On the left side is "Electronics industry hall", "Light industry hall", and "Agriculture hall". The monument to the "Three Revolutions" is located in the north end (as seen from the entrance). I visited this exhibition (light and heavy industry halls) on tuesday, 12th of august 2008, and bought a brochure about it.
  • Ryugyong Hotel (incomplete), bostiao (guest) wrote 17 years ago:
All feelings on Kim Jong-Il and communism aside, it is quite possible that if this hotel were being built in the West it might be whole-heartedly supported and called a marvel of engineering

  • Pyongyang Sunan International Airport, SDKoka wrote 17 years ago:
Air Koryo flies to Beijing and occasionally Shenyang in China; every once in a while a Chinese airline will schedule service. No jetbridges, but a bus will carry passengers from a remote air stand into the terminal. As with everything else in North Korea, a giant picture of Kim Il-Sung stares down on arriving passengers.

  • Kim Il Sung Changsuwon Residence, dckrl (guest) wrote 17 years ago:
possibly a residence of Kim Yong Nam, North Korea's Number Two. The mansion encompasses some 40.000 square feet. Villas on the opposite shore, as large as a mid-size McMansion, possibly belong to his kin.
  • Mansudae Art Studio, LP (guest) wrote 17 years ago:
Art producing studios and shop. The compound is larger than marked on the map.

  • Pot'onggang Station, Themagicdragon (guest) wrote 18 years ago:
According to the more or less official Pyongyang map (available at http://www.pyongyang-metro.com/), this is Pyongyang Western Station. This seems more logical, too, since obviously this is a station on a railway leading from Pyongyang westward. Potonggang station is further North, a bit North of Chuchajang Bridge.
